Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek - 10 Days

The Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek takes you through one of the most famous and iconic treks in the world in the least time possible. This trek is for physically fit and experienced trekkers with limited time who can handle the challenging terrain. The highlight of the trip is the Everest Base Camp. It is the ultimate trekking experience, and to the trekkers who make it this far, it imparts immense pride. It provides a surreal view of Mount Everest and the Khumbu icefall.

The trek begins from Lukla as you ascend to Everest Base Camp passing through Phakding, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. Then you descend back to Gorakshep to hike to Kalapatthar. After reaching the highest point of the trek, you trail back down to Gorakshep and then to Pheriche, Namche Bazar, and Lukla. From Lukla, you take a flight back to Kathmandu. The trek is short with a mere 12 days to the day of departure but that does not mean you get less from the trek. You will fully have the chance to immerse in the local culture, the culture of the Sherpa ethnic group.

Your trip will feel like a spiritual journey as it passes through various monasteries with Mani walls, and prayer flags adorning the trek.

This trek features an exhilarating flight to Lukla. The flight is an adventure in itself as the airport has a short runway and is surrounded by mountainous terrain. On this trek, you will travel through and stay in Namche Bazar. Established as a trading town, it is now a busy tourist hub catering to mountaineers and trekkers on their way to the Everest Base Camp. The Sherpa Culture Museum located here contains all sorts of exhibits of importance to the Sherpa community. Namche Monastery offers an insight into the religion of the locals.

This also takes you to Tengboche, where the important Tengboche Monastery or the Dawa Choling Gompa is located. Built with stones, it features a large statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. Likewise, the Mani Rimdu Festival which is a 19-day festival commemorating the founding of Buddhism in the Khumbu region is celebrated here.

A trek to Kalapatthar (5,644 m) is just the icing on the cake of this wonderful trek. At Kalapatthar, you will witness the panoramic views of mountains such as Mt. Lhotse (8,414 m), Mt. Changtse (7.543 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8188 m), Mt. Nuptse (7861 m), and Mt. Pumori (7,165 m). It is a real treat to be able to view the sunset from Kalapatthar, a true feast for the eyes and your soul. Upon reaching the Everest Base Camp (5,364m), you will be filled with a sense of great achievement. It will fill your heart with warmth and you will relieve this glory for the rest of your life.

Spring (March-May) and autumn (September to November) are the best seasons for the EBC trek. As for the permits required, you will need two types of permits. The Khumbu local government permit costs USD 17 per person for the first four weeks and the Sagarmatha National Park permit costs around USD 30. The trek is a difficult grade and the trekkers need to be quite physically fit to undertake this especially since the trip is short.

Accommodation

We will stay in a three-star hotel, located in Kathmandu and the tea house during hiking. All accommodations are shared by two people. Single room will be available based on the additional charge if you like to have the single as well. The Himalayan Adventure Nepal will organize rooms with private bathrooms with all facilities . However, tea houses in some places have only shared toilets. It’s easy to find individual rooms in Kathmandu and low trekking trails, but can be difficult to find at higher altitudes.

Meals

On our trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine and the most common international cuisine (Tibet, continent, Italy, India, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served at the tea house or the house menu, where we will spend the night and lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be served during the trek and at Kathmandu, only breakfast will be served. The hotel will also offer welcome and farewell dinner for the guest.

Can I be a good trekker?

As you know Rapid Everest Base Camp is short ,suit and cozy trek for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5-6 hours a day with a light rucksack.at least the trekker need to be prepared physically and mentally as you might even need to walk 8 to 9 hours each day. Walking in higher altitude is more physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes; however, if we have good health with average physical fitness, positive attitude, self-confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish the trek successfully and create the lifetime experiences .

It will be better to have exercised and jogging regularly before embark on the trek to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience is preferred but no technical skill is required. It is important that we consult with our doctor before booking this trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform Himalayan Adventure Nepal before booking the trek.
