Happy Teej Festival 2019 (2076) in Kathmandu, Nepal - Trip Overview

Teej Festival Tour - The first day of Teej is called Dar Khane Din. On this day, women, married and single, mainly Khas, gathered in one place, dressed in the best costumes, began to dance and sing devotional songs. In all this, the great feast took place. The joy often lasts until midnight and begins quickly 24 hours later.

The second day is the day of fasting. Some women live without food or water, while others consume liquids and fruits. On this day, they dressed happily and visited the nearby Shiva Temple to sing and dance along the way. The Pashupatinath Temple received most of the devotees. In the Shiva Temple, women surround the symbol of the Lord God, Shiva Linga, to provide flowers, sweets and coins. The main liturgy (religious ceremonies) is provided by flowers and fruits made by Shiva and Parvati, supplicating blessings to their husbands and relatives. An important part of the Fa Conference is the oil lamp, which should be lit all night long.

The third day of the festival is Rishi Panchami. After the faculty of the previous day, the women paid homage to several gods and found red mud and its leaves in the roots of the sacred forest of Datuk. This act of purification is the last ritual of Teej, after which it is considered that women are free from all crimes. In recent years, rituals have changed, especially gravity, but their essence remains the same.

Teej celebrated on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi. Women who fast for the health of their spouse and their married life for 24 hours nirjala (without water or fruit), single people will pray to get a good husband.

Teej is important for married Indian women as well as for single women. Single girls fast and worship Mahadev so they can make her husband adapt to her and do her duty. Married women adore for the longevity of their husbands. The fourth day, also known as Rishi Panchami, is the last day of the festival. On this day, the women go to the nearest stream or river, take a shower and participate in Puja (worship). People think that the relationship between husband and wife will be more intense.
